A TWISTED OBJECT

A playful exercises for thinking differently. This project was a way of  understanding the simplest objects and decoding them creatively. The project brief required me to strip a common object of its normal use and contradict its logic to create the absurd by using different approaches. Here, the object assigned was a comb.

RESEARCH AND IDEATION

RESEARCH AND IDEATION

The ideation of the project involved - playing with form and material, changing the basic features of the comb such as its shape, it's make and break would also render it useless. Thus replacing normal comb bristles with all pins or actual human hair along with changing the handle of the comb were a few ideas that came to me. To add a variety to my end product I also decided to make a pair - a Male and a Female comb. This allowed me to play with the design and shape of my end product. ed sections for which we designed a proposed grid.

FINAL RESULT

The female comb is smaller and has curvature on the sides whereas the male comb is cubical and strong. For my final idea and execution I used the spring to give the end product a bouncy and unstable feel.
